NICKEL & NICKEL ROCK CAIRN 2005

If you've ever gone hiking, you've probably seen a cairn without knowing what it was. A carefully, sometimes artfully, stacked pile of rocks marking the trail, older cairns are said to be Native American offering for a safe passage. The 2005 Rock Cairn from Nickel & Nickel carefully (and artfully) pieces together black cherry and green olive notes with hints of spice and firm, full tannins. Expansive on the mid-palate, this is a lovely wine that's drinking well now, and one that will continue to evolve over the years.
