The air is getting crisp and fall will soon here. This time of year we turn to the big, bold monster reds that will match well with the heartier foods of the season. So put on that sweater and cozy up wth a glass of red wine that will linger on both your mind and your palate!
Big, bold and intense! 32% Syrah, 28% Zinfandel, 13% Petite Sirah, 9% Sangiovese, 7% Grenache, 5% Barbera, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Primitivo and 1% Merlot. (A mouthfull in more ways than one!) Dark purple color with flavors of raspberry fruit and chocolate. Full and plush in the mouth with round tannins. Perfect with baby back ribs! |
A robust and rich Cabernet, this wine is dark ruby in color, with aromas of dark fruit and cloves. Flavors of black cherries and blackberries emerge upon the palate. The fruit is beautifully balanced with a smooth, long finish. This wine has tremendous structure without the feel of excessive tannins or oak. |
This garnet colored Zinfandel is aromatically spicy with rich cherry vanilla notes and strong tannins. The palate is rich with intense flavors of boysenberry and blueberry fruit. The finish is refined with elegant French oak flavors and rich vanilla which wraps the old vine resin and frames the palate. This Zinfandel is a sophisticated, yet reckless monster of a wine, and is fantastic when paired with rib eye steaks or grilled pork loin. |
This is a gorgeous Cabernet from one of the most heralded vintages in Napa in recent years, and has elicited an almost cult following among the Cabernet set. The wine is from a label established by one of the most respected boutique wine importing company that saw an opportunity when a prominent Napa winery was going to dump its precious 2007 Cabernet juice during the height of the economic collapse in 2008. Dense blackberry fruit, with velvety, creamy texture, and notes of dark cocoa, sweet spices, and oak toast. |
Malbec may have originally been associated with Cahors and Bordeaux in France, but it is the Mendoza region of Argentina where Malbec's greatest fame lies. Here on the eastern slope of the Andes mountains, Malbec produces wines of rich flavors, lush mouthfeel, and silky tannin. This headsnapper starts off with a punch of dark cherry fruit and follows through with nuances of plums, tobacco, coffee and charred oak. When it's time for a "chunk-of-flavor" and a bold, pronounced mouth feel that is perfect with red meats and pasta dishes, then it's time for this Argentinean Malbec. |
76% Cab Sauv from Napa Valley, in & around Calistoga. 5.5% Malbec from Paso Robles. 6% Petit Verdot split between the Yountville & Stag’s Leap appellation. Aged in French & American oak showing intense ripe blackberry, currant & dark fruit complexity with an intensity in the mid-palate drawn from the the Petit Verdot & Malbec. Layered beneath this fruit is a rich core of new oak and chocolate. |
This 50% Merlot and 50% blend of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon is matured in barrels for just over 20 months giving the wine a deep violet red color with a hint of purple on the rim. Nose is powerful and elegant with full red fruits typical of Cabernet Sauvignon. Very well balanced with excellent structure. Drinks well now but will continue to develop for several more years. |
